The art of haggling in African markets

by The Lady | posted in: Africa, Tips & Tricks | 0

The majority of shops in Africa don’t have price tags or fixed prices. Supermarkets, shopping malls and high-end shops are usually the exception. Street food stalls and food markets are also not particularly into haggling. But in all the other … Continued

The temple of Hatshepsut, the pharaoh queen

by The Lady | posted in: Africa, Egypt | 6

The old medieval city center is perched on the top of the hill, with narrow cobbled streets and steep stairs. The highlights are the "hanging houses", known since the XVI century. There are only a couple still standing, but their balconies suspended 70 meters over the cliff are truly impressive!

One of the most iconic and bizarre views is the lava flow cutting a road. On the left side, a couple of houses were spared. On the other side of the lava flow now lies a sea of black rocks.

🇬🇧 What better excuse to visit a new place w 🇬🇧 What better excuse to visit a new place when friends are around? I started off this year visiting friends on holiday. They came from North Europe, looking for some nice weather. I came from "the next Island", on a day trip 😁 And the occasion got me to a all-inclusive hotel experience, which I never do, because it's not my favourite way of travelling. I  must confess that free food and drinks all day long is quite a treat 😂 The place was also really, really cute. Quite a start for 2025! Cheers to friends, travels and new experiences! 🥂

🇬🇧 Note for 2025: taking pictures is beautif 🇬🇧 Note for 2025: taking pictures is beautiful, sharing them is better! Talking with old friends during these past Christmas holidays, some pictures of a trip to Normandy were shown around. I can see something recurrent about myself! 😅 But where are those pictures I was taking? I better dig them out of my HD because they hold precious memories I probably have half forgotten! 📸 Do you print out your best photographs?

I also got super lucky with the weather: the day before I arrived was one of the very common foggy snowy day of Slovenian winter 😁
